Why we write the fundamentals

Several reasons – here they are, not necessarily top to bottom order

·         We are grateful for being born an American and we 100% accept the responsibility of being an American – brief list now:

o   Be responsible to others – mostly of course our family and neighbors but also others who need something that we can offer and give

o   Obey the law – never do harm to another human being

o   Serve the country – many ways but mostly by doing the above and…

§  …working

§  …raising our kids to do likewise

§  …voting…

§  …but voting for those who don’t offer us a thing…

§  …but simply tell us to do all of the above…

§  …and they too do it themselves!

·         Now for the really big reason – we offer it now:

 And then one more – from out last good top guy – a few words borrowed on his first day of his brief time in the top job: “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.”

And we close with this one – pls look at the top of this page – EVERY DAY – RISING DEBT.   Folks when the top military man points at a problem and its not being addressed....well you may be able to grasp why we write "offerings" to our 435/100/9 dopes and the many others who do little or nothing.  What need be done is darn little compared with what the men above did for us.

A few words on Dad’s day

We were briefly thumbing thru today’s Chicago Tribune and came across the following on page 5 of Section 4 – Campaign book season.  No, we did not read the article but five books are displayed all with pictures of the “author” and each is a current candidate for US president and two are guys and three are gals.

Today is Fathers Day, 2019 – this guy writing these few words is a dad and he has met with or spoken with his kids, today – all grown adults – good citizens – dad loves them and they love dad.   This small group has several things in common – obey the law, help others and pay off debts or obligations they incur.

I did not read the article about the five dopes mentioned in the first paragraph above – I don’t know if the two guys are dads – and don’t care.  What I do care about is leaving a country to anyone who looks or acts or behaves or pretends to be anything other than what they are – 1^st class nincomPOOPs.     Those four letters are capitalized for a very simple reason – these five and many more coming from the two parties – we refer to them as the 435/100/9 + 000,000’s more across our once land of the free, home of the brave are almost all – almost 100% - in need of POOP flushing.   Most good people do POOP flushing daily.

Is this “flushing” idea ours? 

Please read the following and you may discover/learn that it’s not just us – but as the fellow below observes/states we, us dads, and others are way past due in our needed periodic POOP flushing of the many smellyones (i.e. natural manure) in this once land of the free, home of the brave.

Here is the entire offering that we read in today’s Chicago Tribune – we borrowed a few of the author’s words in the above title and offer a few of our own words at the end.


"Pension reform must be part of fix"

"Regarding your editorial from May 28, “’Let the people vote’ on pension reform too,” I think this is a very powerful statement. I agree that the issue of the $133.5 billion unfunded pension obligation affects everyone in the state either directly or indirectly. Lawmakers in Springfield have agreed to put the question of income tax on the ballot in November 2020 asking people directly if they support moving from a flat income tax to a graduated one.
Why not also add a question about pension reform? Keeping the status quo is obviously not working in Illinois. I applaud Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s efforts to overhaul the state income tax system, but I think we need to go beyond that and give residents the chance to vote on modifying the Illinois Constitution’s pension clause.

I think the idea of adding a modification to lower the annual cost of living adjustments from 3% to 2% or even 1% makes sense. At this point, everyone in Illinois needs to step up and start to compromise. Is it better to have a secure pension that increases 1% a year, or have an unstable pension that might go away? We can all play a part in helping Illinois manage its budget in a more effective way.

To many of my 17-year-old peers, the issue of pension reform and income tax rates may seem irrelevant, but we will be the next bloc of eligible voters next year and it is critical that we pay attention to all the changes happening in the state. Staying involved is a lifetime skill. The more people who know about an issue, the better the chance that people will act for this change.
