BREAKING:
the U.S. national debt just topped a whopping $30 TRILLION. The debt
crisis is a ticking time bomb that will have major consequences for
every American, young and old.
With
federal spending having more than doubled in the past 20 years, it is no
surprise the debt has skyrocketed. This reckless cycle of tax, spend
and borrow is bringing us to the brink of bankruptcy and placing an
immoral burden on our children and grandchildren. Enough is enough.
Washington needs to live within its means and balance its books just
like every family in America.
The very
first measure I introduced as a member of Congress was an amendment to
the U.S. Constitution to balance the federal budget. Just like 49 out of
50 states, including Florida, Washington needs to adopt a balanced
budget amendment and put an end to wasteful spending.
